Building in SL: Patterns
Although busy in my real life (RL), when I am in SL I am making things.
SL, to me, is a series of patterns which are expressed in different ways: prims, animations, scripts, sounds, etc. Since there are, fundamentally, a limited set of operations you can perform on a given type (prim, animation, etc), that makes it easier to figure out what something does or how it has been created.
I was taking a break at work and was browsing some SL-related sites. I saw a build I really liked and was able to recreate it just by looking at a few snapshots. I seem to be able to do that a lot these days, which has resulted in a suge in the number of things in my inventory (close to 21,000 items now).
So, as I build, I also try to find things that may be of interest to others and set them out for sale.
On the developer side of things, I am getting a number of requests for quotes - buildings, scripts, you name it. There are some very interesting ideas floating around among prospective customers.
